“Do you ever get nervous when you go on QVC?”

It's a question I get all the time. And for the last 14 years the answer has always been “No.” I'm so comfortable in that role, my friends around me, and in my lack of control over the outcome — sales, speech, other people's opinions — that I truly don't get nervous.

I practiced, I perfected, and I let it go.

But lately I've been getting nervous again.

That semi-sick feeling, tingle in your tummy, roller-coaster-style nausea that gets old really fast. Its part nerves part excitement! There is a fine line.

Not at QVC. But in so many of these new things I'm doing. Opening a new community in September. Launching a mass-market hardback book. Going on the news. I'm taking huge chances and saying yes to things that quite literally scare me.

It's comfortable to show up at QVC. It's familiar to coach one-on-one. It's routine to stay in my corner of Pennsylvania.

But God is calling me to more.

God calls us to more.

God is calling you to more too.

When's the last time you felt nervous? If it's been a while, I need you to go do something that scares you. Yes, today. Right now. Its so important for your future cognition and your relationship with the Lord.

Ask the Lord: What one thing do you want me to do to get out of my comfort zone? Have a dialogue with Him. Let Him show you where you are playing it safe and staying small.

Because here is the truth: He wants to use you for more. It's a real possibility that you've been choosing your self-created comfort over the comfort He will provide when you do things for Him.

As I was headed to New York this week to talk food availability (watch here) and the first deaths from Cyclospora (watch here), I felt fearful. Afraid I'd mess up, or they wouldn't like me, or I wouldn't be good enough. All lies from the enemy to keep Gods word hidden. God needs me to say yes to things that scare me — not because I can do them, but because He can.

He will talk through you. He will use your actions to further His kingdom.

Next time you're tempted to say no, ask Him what He wants you to do. Chances are He's going to tell you to lean into that fear and do it afraid.

Gary Goben was on the podcast this week, and he talked all about doing things that scare him — including his first time on QVC and his decision to step away from the network, a little, come 2027.

Listen and watch here.

Our new community — The Habit Reset Circle — launches September 7th. We are going to shut down the things in your life that are keeping you stuck (hello fear, food, chronic disease, stress)! There's been an overwhelming response from so many of you as you reveal what's on your heart and where you need help closing the doors that aren't serving your health and faith. If you want to be notified when the doors to the community open, or you want to help shape the content, fill out this short 5-question survey and add your email address here.

Now, what are you going to do that scares you today?

God bless friends,

Kerstin
